Is Handcrafted Furniture in Your Future?
Handcrafted furniture is both an artistic and a practical purchase. A crafted piece can reflect who you are and how you view the world. It can also serve an important purpose in your home or business.
Handcrafted furniture is built to last and often offers superior design elements that boast character and personality. Shopping for artisan furniture can be very engaging.
You can often explore the item’s past. Ask the craftsperson about the quality and type of wood, where the wood came from, where it was milled, whether it was salvaged and has now been given a second life, and even “What makes this particular piece special?”
Here at Lighthouse Woodworks we often meet clients who are searching for exactly the artisan old world quality we put into every piece. The exciting part of this transaction occurs when they share their vision for a custom made piece and we use our creative talents to deliver that item.
A recent example of this occurred when the Senior Manager of Operations of Goldfinch Bio, a biotech company in Cambridge, Massachusetts found our website and really loved our company story and style.
She contacted us and described the handcrafted pieces her company needed to complement the overall aesthetic of their office space.
A month later we delivered the really beautiful custom furniture pieces that she had described.
These included a very large farm-style reclaimed table, a reception desk, and a bar height table. These are all reclaimed oak from a barn in Western Pennsylvania. It took us a couple of weeks to build this project and we delivered it ourselves. We finished it all with a natural oil.
The client sent us this message “A shout out to @lighthouse_boston – your work rocks!”
We hope the pictures give you an idea of our ability to innovate, custom design, and build the furniture of your dreams.
